Death Poem

Death death it’s a funny old thing
When those bells of time you hear them ring
When this body decides to give up the game
Forces of nature it can no longer tame

The universe desire for change and entropy
Eventually make the ol’ body floppy
There’s nothing to stop this mother nature flow
It’s only one direction that your life can go

Sure you can affect the speed of decline
Opting for organic, declining that line
Choosing vibrancy over sloth and submit
Deciding to wellness your mind body commit

With this way of thinking you can surely extend
The time on this planet, human spirits to mend
It goes pretty quickly to that I can know
So don’t you delay your good vibes you sow

Who fricking knows what comes after this?
It’s certainly not guaranteed to be heavenly bliss
Or maybe it is once pressure is gone
No jobs to be done only nature is song
Is this why most people at the time of change
Seem to expand their understanding of human range
If life lived well with mistakes not regret
Then ease one can be when one’s maker is met

Call him / her / she / it whatever you like
Frick God might even be a covid protein spike
God is a word that some like to use
But discuss in public and light that discussion fuse

We all should believe whatever we like
But be respectful of others beliefs when our words get the mic
Dance and be delicate of others deeply held views
Give them space give them ear to listen and muse

For what does a single human specimen really get
Apart from what nature really is if open mind we let
Hmm, the bloody dictionary even defines us as different
To nature, are you serious, how your mind has been bent

In fact being close to death by thought or by friend
Gives one the opportunity, disconnection from nature to mend
We start to flow with the cycle of birth and of death
It’s awesomely obvious our life is our breath

One moment, one breath, it’s all that it take
To be present, to live life, to not be a fake
To be scared and confused and sometimes feel shame
Of one’s habits or thinking having a negative name
Life and death its one and the same
It’s an evolutionary spiritually loving (and quickly over) game

Love being alive!
